1)Draw the graphs of the following equations x+y=5,x-y=5
i)Find the solution of the equations from the graph.
ii)Shade the triangular region formed by the lines and the y-axis.

2)Determine by drawing the graph, whether the following system of linear equations is consistent or in-consistent:
i) 3x-2y=12, x-2y/3-4=0
ii)2x-2y-2=0, 4x-4y-5=0

Step-by-step explanation:

given equations : x+y = 5 ..(1)

x-y=5..(2)

solution :

x+y = 5 ..(1)

put x= 0

we get

y = 5

coordinate (0,5)

put y = 0 we get x = 5

coordinate (5,0)

similarly

x-y = 0

put x = 0 we get y = -5

coordinate (0,-5)

put y = 0 we get x = -5

coordinate (-5,0)

from the graph

ABC is the triangle formed with base = 10 units and height = 5 units

Then area of triangle ABC =

21 ×base×height

21 ×BC×AD

21 ×10×5= 25 cm ²

Hence , The are of the triangle formed is 25 cm ²
