Answer :-

Distance of the spaceship from the ground station is 9 × 10⁷ km .

Explanation :-

We have :-

• Time taken by the signal = 5 minutes

• Speed of the signal = 3 × 10 m s¹

________________________________

Firstly, let's convet the unit of time taken by the signal from min to sec .

⇒ 1 min = 60 s

⇒ 5 min = 5(60)

⇒ 300 s

________________________________

Now, we know that :-

Distance = Speed × Time

Substituting values, we get :-

⇒ Distance = 3 × 10⁸ × 300

⇒ Distance = 900 × 10⁸

⇒ Distance = 9 × 10¹⁰ m

Distance = 9 × 10⁷ km

Answer:

Given :-

During an experiment, a signal from a spaceship reached the ground station in five

minutes.

To Find :-

distance of the spaceship from the ground station?

Solution :-

We know that

Speed of light is measured in 3 × 10⁸ m/s

Distance = Speed × Time

Distance = (3 × 10⁸) × (5 × 60)

Distance = 3 × 10⁸ × 5 × 60

Distance = 15 × 10⁸ × 60

Distance = 900 × 10⁸

Distance = 9 × 10¹⁰ m
