N type semiconductor is that semiconductor which is made by doping pentavalent atoms. in this electrons are majority carriers and holes are minority carriers.

P type semiconductor is made by doping it with trivalent atoms. in this type of semiconductor electrons are minority carriers and holes are majority carriers.

NP type of semiconductor is made by combining both n type and p type semiconductors.
