- Carbohydrates- Carbohydrates are biomolecules comprising carbon, hydrogen and oxygen atoms. They are an important source of energy. They are sugars, starch and fibres found in fruits and vegetables.
- Proteins- Proteins are very large molecules composed of basic units called amino acids. In addition to containing carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen amino acids contain nitrogen. Protein molecules are large, complex .
- Vitamins- Vitamins are organic compounds, found in natural foods which are required for normal growth and maintenance of the body.
- Minerals- a mineral is a naturally occurring inorganic substance with a definite chemical composition.
- Fats - They are obtained either from animals or from plants. Minerals: Minerals are needed by our body in small quantities.
All of them are essential for proper growth of the body and to maintain good health.
