An embryo gets a full set of genes at the time of fertilization.

Explanation:

  • The process of meiosis  results in providing half the number of chromosomes to the daughter cell so that at the time f fertilization half of the chromosomes from the sperm and half from the egg cell can unite to maintain the actual number of chromosomes.

  • Hence, after fertilization an embryo will be formed which will have full set of genes in each of its cells.

  • So, the process of meiosis ensures that each embryo gets a full sets of genes after an egg cell has been fertilized.
