Pure air is free from germs and harmful gases. It contains 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen and small amount of other gases and dust particles. Polluted air contains harmful gases and unwanted substances.

In pure air there are no suspended particulate matter present in air which is harmful for living organisms.

But in polluted air harmful gases released from industries and suspended particulate matter are also present.Hence polluted air is harmful to all living organisms.
