Answer:

Role of anomalous behavior of water

∙ In cold regions temperature is usually well below 4 °C

∙ As temperature decreases, the water at the surface starts contracting.

∙ Which results min increase of water density and it sinks to bottom

∙ This process continues till the temperature of lake falls to 4 °C

∙ beyond this point due to cool conditions water starts to cool farther, it starts expanding instead of contracting

∙ this results in decreases of density at surface

∙ the temperature at surface fall under 0 °C  which form ICE at the surface.

∙ Bat water under the ice is at 4 °C

∙ As Ice is bad conductor below the Ice layer.

∙ due to this the aquatic life below the Ice can survive wen in this harsh conditions.
