1. Muscles move the body by contracting against the skeleton. When muscles contract, they get shorter. By contracting, muscles pull on bones and allow the body to move. For example, the biceps and triceps muscles work together to allow you to bend and straighten your elbow.

2. Ball and socket joint is a movable joint. In this, a bone with a round head fits into the hollow space of another bone. This makes the bone to rotate freely. For example, bones of the hip and shoulder can move in all directions due to ball and socket joints.

3. The skeletal system works as a support structure for your body. It gives the body its shape, allows movement, makes blood cells, provides protection for organs and stores minerals.

4. The lower leg is comprised of two bones, the tibia and the smaller fibula. The thigh bone, or femur, is the large upper leg bone that connects the lower leg bones (knee joint) to the pelvic bone (hip joint).

5. Keep your feet pointed straight ahead, not to one side. Your knees should face forward. Keep your knees slightly bent. Instead of putting one foot directly in front of the other, keep your feet a few inches apart, lined up under the hip on the same side.

6. Pranayama is the practice of breath control in yoga. In modern yoga as exercise, it consists of synchronising the breath with movements between asanas, but is also a distinct breathing exercise on its own, usually practised after asanas.
