Answer : 1. (a) heat always flows from a body at higher temperature to another at lower temperature

(b) conduction take place in solid, liquid and gases usually though the other form of heat transfer mask it in but all solid matter. Heat transfer by conduction relies on direct contact between atoms and molecule.

(c)The particles in most solids are closely packed together. Even though the particles are locked into place and cannot move or slide past each other, they still vibrate a tiny bit. Ice is water in its solid form or state.

(d)Wool is a poor conductor of heat because it traps a large amount of air between its fibres. The wool itself is not the insulator, the air is. ... In the first instance wool is used by its natural wearer, a sheep, to keep warm on the exposed hillsides where it lives.

(e)The materials which do not allow heat to pass through them easily are poor conductors of heat such as plastic and wood. Poor conductors are known as insulators.

2.(a)Heat conduction is the transfer of internal thermal energy by the collisions of microscopic particles and movement of electrons within a body. The microscopic particles in the heat conduction can be molecules, atoms, and electrons

(b)Materials that are good conductors of thermal energy are called thermal conductors. Metals are especially good thermal conductors because they have freely moving electrons that can transfer thermal energy quickly and easily.

Hope it is help you dear!!
