Explanation:

1) All the forts in the Jagir were under the control of officers from the court of Bijapur. He who controlled the forts was in control of the surrounding territory, and so all talk of Swaraj without controlling the forts was meaningless.

2) At the age of sixteen, Shivaji took Torana fort, making it one of the earliest forts to become part of the Maratha kingdom. In honour of the tremendous resistance the Mughals had to overcome to seize this fort, Aurangzeb, the then Mughal emperor, nicknamed it Futulgaib.

3) Shrimant Shree Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj erected Rajgad fort as the first capital of Hindvi Swarajya. This is in the Pune district's Velhe taluka.
