to find a rational number between two numbers a,b=a+b/2

a)-2+2/2=0/2=0

b)(-5/7-2/5)/2=(-25-14/35)/2=(-39/35)/2=-39/70

c)(1/5+1/2)/2=(2+5/10)/2=(7/10)/2=7/20

d)(-1/2+1/2)/2=0/2=0

Answer:

C. If you know what a rational number is, you can write as many rational numbers as you want between 1/5 and 1/2.

A rational number is a number of type p/q where p and q are integers with q not 0. And all rational numbers can be converted either to terminating or recurring decimals.

Now 1/5 = 0.2 and 1/2 = 0.5

So we can have as many rational numbers as you want between 1/5 and 0.5 by writing decimals between 0.2 and 0.5.

For instance, 0.3, 0.475 etc., which are terminating decimals or

0.3333333333333……., 0.2727272727………etc., which are recurring decimals.
