(ii) Factorise: 5x2 – 23x + 12.

Answer:

(ii) 5x2-23x+12

=5x2-23(x)+12

=5x2-(3+20)x+12

=5x2-3x-20x+12

=(5x2-3x)-20x+12

=x(5x-3)-4(5x-3)

=(5x-3)(x-4)(ans)
