given sp=9000

discount=10%

MP=?

MP=(sp×100)/(100-discount)

(9000×100)/(100-10)

900000/90

MP=10000

so MP is rupees 10000

Given :

  • S.P. (selling price) is = ₹9000
  • Discount is = 10%

To find :

The M.P. (marked price).

Solution :

We can simply solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process.

First of all we have know about the mathematical relationship between S.P. , M.P. and discount. Which is -

M.P. - Discount amount = S.P.

Let, the M.P. = ₹ x

So,

Discount amount = (x × 10/100) = ₹ x/10

And,

S.P. = M.P. - discount amount = (x) - (x/10) = ₹9x/10

According to the data mentioned in the question,

9x/10 = 9000

x = 9000 × 10/9

x = 10000

(This value of x will be considered as the final result.)

Hence, the M.P. will be 10000
