To find the sq. root of no. 576

• First observe the units digit of the no.
• in this case it is 6
• We know that only a no. ending with 4 can take place for a square root of a no. ending with 6 (since 4x4=16)
• This implies that the root of the number"s unit place will be 4
• Now start grouping the numbers in pairs. starting from units place to the left
• now the no. is 05 76
• Now we know the units place. so to know tens place,We have the number 5
• Now We need a number whose square that is equal to or the closest to 5
• In this case it is 2 ( since 2x2=4 which is closest to 5)
• Thus we have our second no. i.e 2
• therefore √576= 24
