altitude of the triangle = √side ^2 - (side/2) ^2

√ ( 30 cm) ^2 - ( 15 cm ) ^2

= √ ( 9,00 cm ^2 - 225 cm ^2 )

= √( 675 cm ^2)

= 15 √ 3 cm.

area of triangle = 1/2 × base × height

= 1/2 × 30 × 15 √ 3 square cm

= 225 √ 3 square cm.
