1. Find the area of the unshaded portion of the given figure. The shaded portion are
semi-circles.

The answer is 101.5 .......

Look properly they are joined right at the mid - point of the rectangle in both the sides....

So when these two semi circles are joined, they resemble a complete circle....

So, Area of the circle = π r² =22/7 * (7/2)²= 77/2=38.5 m²

Now, Area of rectangle = l*b =14*10=140 m²

So, Area of unshaded region = Area of rectangle – Area of semi circles = 140 – 38.5 = 101.5 m²
