To find : mean of the first five prime numbers.

Solution :

  • According to question we have to find mean of first five prime numbers.
  • prime numbers are the numbers having only two factors that is 1 and the number itself .
  • Therefore , first five prime numbers are : 2 , 3 ,5,7,11 .
  • Now we find mean of  2 , 3 ,5,7,11 using following formula :
  • Mean \ or \ average  =\frac{sum \ o f\ observations}{number \ of \ observations}

                                     = \frac{2+3+5+7+11}{5}  \\= \frac{28}{5}  \\= 5.6

Hence , mean of the first five prime numbers  is 5.6 .
