since all the sides in the square are equal we can consider the base and the altitude as X

pythagoras formula

base sqaured  + altitude squared = hypotenuse squared

x² + x²= (hypotenuse)²

2x²=32²=2x²=1024

x² =1024/2

x²=512

x=√512=16√2

side of the square=16√2 cm

perimeter = 4 x side of square

                 = 64√2cm
