the answer given by pushkartanwar30 is wrong because he didn't changed -6 to +6 while transferring into another side and he written 8-6 which is totally wrong you can solve that by this method also -:

-2(p+3) = 8

p+3 = 8/-2

p+3 = -4

p = -4-3

p = -7

if you will verify your answer then you will get LHS = RHS by using -7 not by 1
