To Find: (i) (A union B) union C

             (ii) (A union B) intersection c

Solution:

The set of all elements present in the two sets are called union of set and it is denoted as U.

The elements that is present in both the sets are called intersection of set and it is denoted as ∩.

(i) (A union B) union C

Substitute, A={1,3,5,7,9}, B={2,4,6,8,10}, C={1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10}

(AUB) = {1,3,5,7,9} U {2,4,6,8,10}

(AUB) = {1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10}

(AUB)UC = {1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10} U {1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10}

(AUB)UC = {1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10}

Therefore, (A union B) union C = {1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10}

(ii) (A union B) intersection C

Substitute, A={1,3,5,7,9}, B={2,4,6,8,10}, C={1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10}

(AUB) = {1,3,5,7,9} U {2,4,6,8,10}
