(2) If a point C lies between two points A and B such that AC = BC, then prove that AC = 1/2 AB.

AB = AC + BC             [ since C is between A and B ]

=> AB = AC + AC        [ since AC = BC ]

=> AB = 2AC

=> AC = 1/2 AB
