1. For what value of x both the polynomials Y-3x+2 and x2 - 6x +5 become zero? [ Ans: x=1]​

Answer:

x²-6x+5=0

x²-5x-x+5=0

x(x-5)-1(x-5)=0

(x-1)(x-5)=0

x=1 or x=5

y-3x+2=0

we replace x=1

y-3(1)+2=0

y-3+2=0

y-1=0

y=1

→x=1, y=1

therefore , when x=1 both polynomials become zero.
