1. From the following polynomials find out
which of them has (x - 1) as a factor :
(1)x - 7x2 + 14x-8 (2) x2 + 4x2 + x-6
(3)x3 + 6x2 - 9x - 14 (4) 2x + 5x2 - X-6​

(x – 1) is a factor of x3 – 7x2 + 14x – 8 then on putting x – 1 = 0

x = 1

f(1) = 0

= 13 – 7(1)2 + 14(1) - 8

= 1 – 7 + 14 – 8 = 0

Hence x – 1 is one factor.
