Explanation:

All metals occur in a solid or liquid state. But non-metals always occur always in solid or gaseous stats; exception- Mercury, which occurs in liquid state.

Metals always have a postive charge and so are always discharged at the anode because anode consists of a negative charge whereas the whole thing is opposite for non-metals. Electrons always have a negative charge in every atom in our observable universe. So I didn't write anything for the valence electrons in the answer column.
