here is your answer

Explanation:

Solar system is a group of eight planets and the huge star, the sun. It consists of the planets (in ascending order) Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. The first four planets (Mercury to Mars) are also known as rocky or inner planets this is because they are mainly made up of rocks or earthy materials like sand and soil and also lie inside the asteroid belt. The other four planets (Jupiter to Neptune) are called outer planets and jovian planets or gas giants this is because they lie separated by inner planets by asteroid belt and they are largely made up of various gases and are bigger in size. Asteroid belt is a huge strip of asteroids and other heavenly bodies which acts as a divider between rocky and jovian planets. Sometimes heavenly bodies like comets and meteorites also enter our solar system which orbit around the sun. Sun is a huge burning ball of helium and hydrogen gases. All the planets revolve around it because of its gravitational and centrifugal properties. Solar system also contains moons or satellites of various planets like that of earth is moon. These satellites revolve around there own planets. Our solar system wholely lies in the Milky Way galaxy.
