1) Give a brief appearance of the young woman in the story 'Hearts and Hands'?
2) What is the twist on this story?
Answers
1)-Miss Fairchild in the story "Hearts and hands" is the most important character. She is a very pretty young woman dressed in elegant taste and surrounded by all luxurious comforts of an experienced travellers. She seems rich, materialistic and self centered. Her voice was full sweet .
2)-In the beginning of the story it seems that Mr. Easton is the marshal and Glum faced Man is the culprit, as it was told by the glum faced Man himself .But this story has a ironic ending which is also the twist of the story as it was revealed by the two passengers in the train that the glum faced man was the real marshal and Mr. Easton was the culprit who was taken to the jail. The logic of revelance was that no marshal will handcuff the culprit with his right hand while Mr. Easton was handcuffed by Glum faced Man with his right hand.
