Answer:

a) Nylon is used in making socks because they are elastic and have more strength. And it does not absorb water it absorbs only less water. It is light in weight. It is wrinkle free fabric. It is very easy to wash.So nylon is used in making socks.

b) Polyester is widelyused for boat lines and for sail material because it combines good strength and durability, relatively low stretch and reasonable prices.

c) Synthetic fabric are uncomfortable in summer because it does not allow air to pass through them. They do not absorb sweat from our body and evaporation process do not occur or occur slowly ,and we feel lot's of heat inside synthetic clothes.

d) Synthetic fibres melt on heating. If they catch fire, they melt and stick to the body of the person wearing them. That is why it is said not to wear clothes made of synthetic fibre while working in a kitchen as terylene is a synthetic fibre.

I can't answer ur recent question so I'm answering here

manufacturing synthetic fibres is actually helping conservation of forests'. As synthetic fibres are obtained from petrochemicals, they have very well substituted the use of natural fibres like cotton, silk, wool and jute which are obtained from plants and animals.
