India is considered as a secular country

•However, India's secularism does not completely separate religion and state. The Indian Constitution has allowed extensive interference of the state in religious affairs such as constitutional abolition of untouchability, opening up of all Hindu Temples to people of 'lower caste' etc.

because people of different religions and faiths have the freedom to practice and follow their religion without any fear of discrimination. There is no official religion in India.

Explanation:

India is a secular country. It simply means the Stae does not promote, support or go against any particular religion. Every individual is given the freedom to practice and profess any religion of his or her choice. We have minorities in our country. The Muslims, Sikhs, Jains, Parsis, etc. constitute the minority population in the country. They are given special protection under the Indian constitution.
