1 ) new quilt is warmer than the old one because new one has air space between the woolen layers.these spaces traps air ,as air is a insulator they do not allow the body heat to escape and keep us warm.

2) Brass is a metal so,it is a good conductor  thermal .but wood is a insulator

3) black is a good conductor of heat and the bottom of the vessels are black because it helps to absorb more heat and thus help in cooking the food faster and top part is shinny so that minimum heat is lost.
