1. He told me as if thinking aloud, "Abul! I
know you have to go away to grow. Does
the seagull not fly across the sun, alone
and without a nest ?" He quoted Khalil
Gibran to my hesitant mother, "Your
children are not your children. They are
the sons and daughters of Life's longing
for itself. They come through you but not
from you."

Answer:

A child must leave his home to lead a better life full of success and happiness. As Abdul Kalam's Father said that a child must leave his home even if they belong to their family they also belong to the nation and have to live their life. He gives the example of a seagull, that like it has to fly across the sky, alone and cannot take the best with it similarly a child must also go and live his/her life.
