1. Take a glass tumbler and add some soil in it. Then pour some water on the soil slowly and stir for a while. The air bubbles start coming out of the soil. This proves that soil holds air in it.

2. Soil fertility is a complex process that involves the constant cycling of nutrients between organic and inorganic forms. As plant material and animal wastes are decomposed by micro-organisms, they release inorganic nutrients to the soil solution, a process referred to as mineralization.
