1. Some smaller desert animals live in their underground burrows during daytime to escape the heat. Some eat plants and get the water they need. Other eat other animals to get the water they need from the moisture.
2. Moisture protects the earth’s surface from the heat of the sun. But since deserts have no moisture cover, the temperature rises rapidly during the day and falls rapidly at night.
