1.The atmosphere also protects living things on Earth from the sun's harmful ultraviolet radiation. A thin layer of gas called ozone high up in theatmosphere filters out these dangerous rays. The atmosphere also helps to sustain life of Earth.

2.Some of these chemicals take part in reactions in the atmosphere, and can result in acid rain. Greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide: These gases are found naturally in our atmosphere. But human activity is also releasing them in large quantities. This contributes to global climate change.

Heyaa...

First of all, let me tell you what is atmosphere...

Atmosphere is a blanket of air that surrounds the earth and is composed if the air that we breathe in , having several types of gases.By volume, dry air contains 78.09% nitrogen, 20.95% oxygen, 0.93% argon, 0.04% carbon dioxide, and small amounts of other gases.

Now looking at the questions...

1. Upper layers of atmosphere have a layer of ozone gas or simply ozone layer. It protects us from harmful UV radiations of sun. Also, it helps in maintaining the temperature of earth by trapping greenhouse gases. And the oxygen within our atmosphere is essential for life.In these ways, atmosphere ensures life on earth.

2. We should protect the atmosphere because :-

⏩If there wouldn't have been any atmosphere, earth would have been a huge ball of ice!

⏩To protect the humankind from various skin problems arising due harmful UV radiations.

⏩It plays an essential role in governing life on earth.

thanks
