Answer:
- During gas exchange oxygen moves from the lungs to the bloodstream. At the same time carbon dioxide passes from the blood to the lungs. This happens in the lungs between the alveoli and a network of tiny blood vessels called capillaries, which are located in the walls of the alveoli.
- During drowsiness, our breathing rate slows down. The lungs do not get enough oxygen from the air resulting in yawning. Yawning brings extra oxygen into the lungs and helps us to keep awake.

Answer:
Q1) How does the exchange of gases occur in breathing?
Solution:-
Breathing involves the movement of diaphragm and rib-cage. Expansion of rib-cage and lowering of diaphragm helps in inhalation and relaxation of rib-cage and being the normal position of diaphragm - helps in exhalation.
Q2) Whenever we feel drowsy or sleepy, we start yawning. Does yawning help us in anyway?
Solution:-
We yarn usually when we are sleepy or drowsy because during such conditions we do not breathe as we normally do and our breathing rate slows down. Due to slower breathing rate, less oxygen goes into our body which is insufficient for respiration and causes yawning.
hope it helps you.
