Don't worry, I'm giving your answer:
According to my knowledge, it is difficult to get SO2 gas from sodium sulphate, but you can get SO2 gas from Sodium sulphite. Add any dilute acid on sodium sulphite, SO2 gas evolves.

Na2SO3 + 2HCl -------> 2NaCl + H2O + SO2

Now, how to get sulphur dioxide gas from copper chips? Very simple. Add concentrated sulphiric acid on copper. SO2 gas evolves.

Cu + 2H2SO4 ------> CuSO4 + SO2 + 2H2O

A question might arise in your mind, that Cu is a metal and H2SO4 is an acid, and when a metal and acid reacts with each other, hydrogen gas is evolved.
Explanation:
First of all, the acid is concentrated. Active metals react with DILUTE ACIDS to produce H2 gas. Here H2SO4 taken is concentrated.

Secondly, only METALS ABOVE HYDROGEN in the reactivity series can displace H2 gas from dilute acids. Copper is a metal BELOW HYDROGEN.

Thanks!
