Everything in this world is not constant or permanent. The boy loses his ball with which he had lots of cherrishable memories. As he is a small boy,the ball's loss matters a lot to him. If he could pass this situation without grieving, facing it easily, then he could win any loses in his life.

The boy has to understand the nature of the loss. He has to understand what it means to lose something. Gain and loss are the two sides of the same coin. The boy has to learn how to move forward forgetting everything about the losses he has suffered in the past.
