1)how is the refractive index of a medium related to speed of light? Obtain an expression of for Refractive Index of a medium with respect to another in term of speed of light in these two media?
2) refractive index of Diamond with respect to glass is 1.6 and absolute refractive index of Glass is 1.5 find out the absolute refractive index of diamond.

1)refractive index of any medium= speed of light in air / speed of light in other medium.

so, refractive index is directly proportional to speed of light.

2) refractive index of diamond/refractive index of glass=1.6

refractive index of diamond =1.6×1.5

refractive index of diamond=2.4
