no. of piece that can be cut

= total length of the cloth/length of a piece.

= (155/2)/(31/6)

= (155) (6) / (2) (31)

= (5) (3)

= 15.

Answer:

Number of pieces that can be obtained from a \frac{155}{2} m cloth  = 15 pieces

Step-by-step explanation:

Total meter of cloth we have  =  77\frac{1}{2} m  = \frac{155}{2} m

Length of one piece  = 5\frac{1}{6} m = \frac{31}{6} m

Therefore number of pieces that can be obtained from a \frac{155}{2} m cloth

                                                                              =  \frac{Total meter of cloth we have}{Length of one piece}

                                                                               = \frac{\frac{ 155 }{ 2 } } {\frac{ 31 }{ 6 } }

                                                                               = \frac{155}{2} * \frac{6}{31}

                                                                               = 5 * 3

                                                                                = 15 pieces
