you can balance the equation by using ABCD method

firstly write the skeletal equation of the reaction and then put the coefficients of each molecule as ABCD then equate the number of atoms of each element on both the sides of the equations and 4 equations will be formed and we have 4 variables which can be solved to find the value of ABCD and your equation will be balanced

Explanation:

1) Count the no.of atoms of each element on RHS and LHS side.

eg:- Mg+O2 = MgO

Now here Mg is 1 in LHS side as well as RHS side..so it is already balanced.

2) Now , we need to count the no.of atoms of other element here , now O2 is remaining..so will count it..On LHS side it is 2 and in RHS side it is 1..so need to make RHS side also 2..as from both sides same no.of atoms should be there of each element.

3) Now if we write 2 in RHS side..then Mg will also become 2

4) Then , finally we need to put 2 on LHS side so it will also be balanced

____2Mg+O2=2MgO
