Answer:

1 ) Like terms : The terms having the same literal (variable) with same exponents are called Like terms. Unlike terms : The terms having the same variable with different exponents or different variable with same exponents are called Unlike terms .

2)

You call an expression with a single term a monomial, an expression with two terms is a binomial, and an expression with three terms is a trinomial. An expression with more than three terms is named simply by its number of terms. For example a polynomial with five terms is called a five-term polynomial

\sf\bold{1)}- Following steps will help you to decide whether the given terms are Like or Unlike terms:

\sf{i.} Ignore the numerical coefficients. Concentrate on the algebric part of the terms.

\sf{ii.} Check the variables in the terms. They must be the same.

\sf{iii.} Next, check the powers of each variable in the terms. They must be the same.

NOTE : In deciding like terms, two things do not matter:

1) the numerical coefficients of the terms .

2) the order in which the variables are multiplied in the terms.

__________

\sf\bold{2)}Monomials:- An expression with only one term is called a monomial. Example; (7xy)

Binomials:- An expression which contains two unlike terms is called binomial. Example; (x+y)

Trinomial:- A expression which contains three terms us called a trinomial. Example;(x+y+7)

Polynomial:- In general,an expression with one or more terms is called a polynomial. Thus, a minomial, binomial and tinomial are all POLYNOMIALS.
