The frog was self-absorbed, arrogant and very confident in his ability to sing.He would not listen to any criticism and even physical force and other forms of opposition did not stop him from stubbornly continuing to sing and annoy the animals of the bog.

The animals loathed his voice as well as his callous and insensitive and uncaring attitude towards the trouble he was causing them. They attempted to stop him by throwing stones and bricks at him, insulting him and complaining and even praying to him to stop singing but he would not listen
