Answer:

1 is You can find the volume of an irregular object by immersing it in water in a beaker or other container with volume markings, and by seeing how much the level goes up. You can use this relation backwards too -- if you know what material an object is made of, you can look up its density in a book.

2 is The SI unit of volume is the cubic meter (m 3 ), which is the volume occupied by a cube that measures 1 m on each side.

1) Density=weight of block/Volume

Weight of block can be measured on spring balance.

Now with block on balance. ,block can be dipped in water.we can calculate loss in weight.

This can be converted to volume for water as density of water is. 1GM/ cc or1000 kg/m3

This volume of water would also be volume of block.

Therefore density would be wt/vol.

2)The SI unit of volume is the cubic meter (m 3 ), which is the volume occupied by a cube that measures 1 m on each side.

NUMERICAL:

• Calculate the speed of a car that covers a distance of 150 km in 3 hours.

So we know the formula of speed which is

s =  \frac{d}{t}

Here s is the speed, d is the distance and t is the time

So according to the information given

Distance = 150 km

Time = 3 hours

s =  \frac{150 \: km}{3 \: hrs}

s = 50 \: km \: per \: hour

So the speed is 50 km/h
