The process of proving the existence of protein in boiled dal is given as follows -
- Dal is a very popular vegetarian food. It is enriched with protein. It helps to build muscles, tissues, and bones.
- A 100g cooked dal can serve upto 6g of proteins. It also contains some amount of vitamin E, C, and K.
- To prove the existence of protein in boiled dal, we need to collect a small amount of boiled dal as a sample.
- Then we need to grind the sample and make a paste out of it.
- Then the paste should be placed in a test tube. Then 10 drops of water should be added to it and then the test tube should be shaken.
- At first 2 drops of copper sulphate solution has to be added to the solution and ten drops of caustic soda solution need to be added to the solution.
- Then we need to shake the test tube well and then put it on a stand for a few minutes.
- If the colour of the solution turns violet, the presence of protein will be proved.
