Epidermis = it is the outermost layer of the plant organs such as leaves ,flowers,stems and roots whereas When a play grow old ,The outer protective tissue (epidermis) undergoes certain changes and the young stem of epidermis is replaced by a strip of secondary meristem called. cork cambium Or phellogen
