(1) If 2x + 3y = 10 and 3x + 2y = 15, find the value of (x + y).

Given,

2x+3y=10--------1

3x+2y=15--------2

Adding 1 and 2,we get

5x+5y=25

=>5(x+y)=25

Therefore,x+y=5.
