1. If 3x - 2y = 24 and 2x - 3y = 18, then find the value of
x+y.

3x - 2y = 24...(1)

2x - 3y = 18...(2)

subtracting (1) and (2)

3x - 2y = 24...(1)
2x - 3y = 18...(2)
-.....+.....=....-
x+y=6

hence,
x+y= 6
