Answer:

1) 4, x and 9 are in continued proportion.

Therefore, 4 : x = x : 9

➪ x² = 4 x 9

➪ x =

 \sqrt{36} = 6

2) 25, 35, and x are in continued proportion.

Therefore, 25 : 35 = 35 : x

➪ 35² = 25 x x

➪ x =

 \frac{35x35}{25} = 7x7 = 49

3) i) Shorter Rope, if the longer one is 22∙5m.

Here, let the shorter rope be x.

7:5 = 22∙5 : x

➩ 7 x x = 5 x 22∙5

➩ x =

 \frac{5x22∙5}{7} = \frac{112∙5}{7} = 16∙07

Hope it helps!
