1 IF 5X+4Y=7,4X+5Y=11 WHAT IS THE VALUE OF X+Y?

5x+4y=7

4x+5y=11

multiply eq 1 by 4 and eq 2 by 5 we get

20x+16y=28

20x+25y=55

subtract

=-9y=-27

y=3

put in eq 1

5x+12=7

5x=7-12

5x=-5

x=-1

x+y=

-1+3
