  • As per the data given in the question, we have to determine the cost of 12kg onions.

Given data:- 7kg onions cost is 140rs.

To find:- the cost price of 12kg onions.

        Solution:-

  • For calculating the cost price of 12kg onions, we have to calculate per kg cost price of onions.

         1kg cost price of onions=\frac{140}{7}=20rs.

So, the cost price of 12kg of onions will be

          =12\times20\\=240rs.

Hence, the cost price of 12kg onions will be 240rs.

As per the data given in the question,

In the above question, it is given that,

Given that If 7 kg onions cost 140 rupees.

Here we have to find how much must we pay for 12 kg of onions.

We have to obtain the price of one kg and then get the price of 12kg.

Thus,

The cost price of 1kg onion is equal to the price of 7kg onions upon 7 kg.

=\frac{140}{7} \\=Rs.20

The price of one kg onion is Rs.20

Therefore the price of 12kg onions is,

=12\times 20\\=Rs.240

Hence we have to pay Rs.240 for 12kg onions.
