1. If a, b and c are in A.P. show that :
(i) 4a, 4b and 4c are in A.P.
(ii) a + 4, b + 4 and c + 4 are in A.P.

a1 = 4a, a2 = 4b a3 = 4c

we know that a2 - a1 =a3-a2

4b - 4a = 4c - 4b

8b = 4a+4c

4b = a+ c

therefore hence proved
